Build inside the wire. Build to last.
HMP Bronzefield appointed Parogon to construct and fit out a new Mental Health Unit, designed by Parogon's in-house team and built in 16 weeks.
Parogon also delivered the DHU extension: a new 235 m² extension to an existing office building within the prison grounds.
The Thinking
Security first, then space and durability.
Every person, vehicle, tool and delivery on a prison site is controlled, and the prison's routines come first. The programme was planned around that from day one.
Working closely with local authority planning officers, the team made the most of the site to maximise usable floor space, and specified robust fixtures and fittings for lasting quality.

The Build
From groundworks to fit-out.
For the DHU extension: alterations and demolitions, substructure, a steel portal frame, and an insulated cavity masonry superstructure and roof.
For the Mental Health Unit: design, construction and fit-out in 16 weeks, with robust fixtures and fittings throughout.

The Result
Designed and built inside a working prison.
