Endoscopy Complex

Wexham Park Hospital, NHS Frimley Health

The brief

A new unit, on a site with no room.

NHS Frimley Health needed a new Endoscopy unit at Wexham Park Hospital, on an enclosed and busy site. Parogon delivered a new-build modular building complex and refurbished clinical areas in the main building at the same time.

The thinking

Plan the lifts, then plan the building.

Site clearance, foundations, logistics and crane offload all had to happen within the hospital's own boundary, around ambulances, patients and staff. A modular complex moves the difficulty from the site to the sequence: what lands when, and what it passes over on the way.

The result

“The building was the straightforward part.”

Frimley Health gained a purpose-built Endoscopy complex on a site that had no room for one, with refurbished clinical areas delivered through the same programme.
