Week one in Didcot: getting a live office fit-out off to the right start

Work has started on a new office fit-out on a business campus in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The first week has been about getting the groundwork right before a single wall goes up.

Parogon has started work on a new office fit-out on a business campus in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The first week has been about getting the groundwork right before a single wall goes up.

The brief is a complete workspace: 20 new desks, a meeting room, private offices, a brand-new reception and a breakout space with its own scribble wall. It is all being delivered inside a live building, with neighbouring businesses working as normal around us.

Getting the groundwork right

We kicked off with everyone around one table: the campus estates team, the client's project manager and our site team. Agreeing how the project will run before work begins means fewer surprises later.

From there, the focus has been on the work nobody sees: protecting the building, planning around the neighbours, and checking what's already in place before we change anything. It's careful, unglamorous work, and it's why handover day goes smoothly.

Keeping the client in the loop

Clients can't always get on site, so our team sends a short weekly update on what's been done and what's coming next. We'll be sharing highlights here too, so you can follow the project as it takes shape.

What's next

With the groundwork in place, next week the new layout starts to take shape as the first walls go up.
